about

This is a song that I wrote using a ukulele. Enjoy!

lyrics

I got a letter from a newspaper
They told me they could make me fly
They would put me on the newspaper
With a picture of my face on the page

I took a train to an eastern city
Playing my uke in york
I played around til a found a kitty
He liked to eat pork

And then I went to a state fair
And had money on the wall
It really showed that I cared
They thought I was tall (I'm not)

This all really happened here
In the loneliness of the midwest
I don't care
What you might say about me

I got caught in a dark tunnel
A train was coming my way
I knew my life was done for
But I just had to say I

Got a letter from a newspaper
They told me they could make me fly
They would put me on the newspaper
With a picture of my face on the page

I wish I was right for once
Nine times out of ten I'm wrong
Everyone calls me a dunce
Once I get the letter I'll be as high as king kong, I said but

Time went too fast and then I found myself
In the loneliest time of my life
I was too short to reach the shelf
But I climbed and I climbed

Got a letter from a newspaper
They told me they could make me fly
They would put me on the newspaper
With a picture of my face on the page
